I have been puzzled. A week ago a bird hit my balcony window but when I went to look I could not find a bird, but left some water and crumbs. Later I went on to the balcony again to plant cyclamen - I came back indoors but because it was mild I left the door open. Imagine my surprise when sitting looking at a magazine something caught my eye - when I looked down there looking up at me was a tiny bird - we looked at each other it looked like one of the finch family, but it was a baby - what was a baby doing in the Autumn. I knew if I stood up I would be chasing it all around the room. I carefully took the cover off the arm of my chair and dropped it over the bird, I was then able to pick it up, it certainly felt strong and let out a protest. I put it on the floor of my balcony and closed the door - I didnt see it go but I am sure it did fly away. Have the birds mixed up Spring & Autumn!
